I just read Robert Nguyen Cramer's comment [at http://www.bibletexts.com/qa/qa045.htm] concerning the value of having the Women's Bible Commentary, one volume, edited by Newsom and Ringe. Thanks so much. I have had this book in my library for several years, and I appreciate it so much. It brings insight that other commentaries lack. Its explication of the story of the woman at the well in John's Gospel is an excellent example. No one ever pointed out to me before that Jesus made a declaration of his identity to this woman and she went to tell others about him -- as an apostle. Thanks again.
