Q&A #147 - Hebrew-English & Greek-English interlinear Bibles

by Robert Nguyen Cramer

This BibleTexts website administrator has very much enjoyed questions and insights that have been emailed to him ever since this site was launched in September of 1996. On this page I share with BibleTexts browsers a few of the questions, insights, and responses, so that we all can further learn from and with each other.

What is the cost and who is the editor and publication date of The Interlinear Hebrew Greek English Bible, Volume One through Volume Three?

The best and most reliable choices are The Interlinear NIV Hebrew-English Old Testament,by John R. Kohlenberger III (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan, 1987) and the Word Study Greek-English New Testament with Complete Concordance, edited by Paul R. McReynolds (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, 1998). My review of the McReynolds' book is at:

The Interlinear Hebrew Greek English Bible, Volume One through Volume Three,by Jay Green (Lafayette, IN: AP&A, 1979), to which you referred, may be out of print. Even if you could find it, it is not worth purchasing, because its New Testament Greek text is not reliable, and it interlinear translation of both the Old Testament Hebrew and the New Testament Greek are very inaccurate.
