Jochebed, the name of Moses’ mother. According to priestly traditions, she and her husband, Amram, both descendants of Levi, were the parents of Aaron, Moses (Exod. 6:20), and Miriam (Num. 26:59). This is a conflation of earlier statements in Exodus (2:1-10; 4:14; 15:20).
