KJV w/Strong# - {12} ...be thou an example <5179> of the believers <4103>, in word <3056>, in conversation <391>, in charity <26>, in spirit <4151>, in faith <4102>, in purity <47>.
NRSV - 12 ...set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
TEV - "A Good Servant of Christ Jesus" - 11 Give them these instructions and these teachings. 12 Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but be an example for the believers in your speech, your conduct, your love, faith, and purity. 13 Until I come, give your time and effort to the public reading of the Scriptures and to preaching and teaching. 14 Do not neglect the spiritual gift that is in you, which was given to you when the prophets spoke and the elders laid their hands on you. 15 Practice these things and devote yourself to them, in order that your progress may be seen by all. 16 Watch yourself and watch your teaching. Keep on doing these things, because if you do, you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
KJV w/Strong# - {1} I therefore <3767>, the prisoner <1198> of the Lord <2962>, beseech <3870> you that ye walk <4043> worthy <516> of the vocation <2821> wherewith <3739> ye are called <2564>, {2} With all <3956> lowliness <5012> and meekness <4236>, with longsuffering <3115>, forbearing <430> one <240> another <240> in love <26>; {3} Endeavouring <4704> to keep <5083> the unity <1775> of the Spirit <4151> in the bond <4886> of peace <1515>. {4} [There is] one <1520> body <4983>, and one <1520> Spirit <4151>, even <2532> as ye are called <2564> in one <3391> hope <1680> of your <5216> calling <2821>; {5} One <1520> Lord <2962>, one <1520> faith <4102>, one <3391> baptism <908>, {6} One <1520> God <2316> and Father <3962> of all <3956>, who <3588> [is] above <1909> all <3956>, and through <1223> all <3956>, and in you all <3956>. {7} But unto every <1538> one <1520> of us is given <1325> grace <5485> according <2596> to the measure <3358> of the gift <1431> of Christ <5547>.
{11} And he gave <1325> some <3588>, apostles <652>; and some <3588>, prophets <4396>; and some <3588>, evangelists <2099>; and some <3588>, pastors <4166> and teachers <1320>; {12} For the perfecting <2677> of the saints <40>, for the work <2041> of the ministry <1248>, for the edifying <3619> of the body <4983> of Christ <5547>: {13} Till <3360> we all <3956> come <2658> in the unity <1775> of the faith <4102>, and of the knowledge <1922> of the Son <5207> of God <2316>, unto a perfect <5046> man <435>, unto the measure <3358> of the stature <2244> of the fulness <4138> of Christ <5547>:
NRSV - 1 I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all. 7 But each of us was given grace according to the measure of Christ's gift.
11 The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.
TEV - "The Unity of the Body" - 1 I urge you, then -- I who am a prisoner because I serve the Lord: live a life that measures up to the standard God set when he called you. 2 Be always humble, gentle, and patient. Show your love by being tolerant with one another. 3 Do your best to preserve the unity which the Spirit gives by means of the peace that binds you together. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as there is one hope to which God has called you. 5 There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 there is one God and Father of all mankind, who is Lord of all, works through all, and is in all. 7 Each one of us has received a special gift in proportion to what Christ has given. 8 As the scripture says, "When he went up to the very heights, he took many captives with him; he gave gifts to mankind." 9 Now, what does "he went up" mean? It means that first he came down to the lowest depths of the earth. 10 So the one who came down is the same one who went up, above and beyond the heavens, to fill the whole universe with his presence. 11 It was he who "gave gifts to mankind"; he appointed some to be apostles, others to be prophets, others to be evangelists, others to be pastors and teachers. 12 He did this to prepare all God's people for the work of Christian service, in order to build up the body of Christ. 13 And so we shall all come together to that oneness in our faith and in our knowledge of the Son of God; we shall become mature people, reaching to the very height of Christ's full stature. 14 Then we shall no longer be children, carried by the waves and blown about by every shifting wind of the teaching of deceitful men, who lead others into error by the tricks they invent.

KJV w/Strong# - {12} And now <06258>, Israel <03478>, what <04100> doth the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> require <07592> of thee, but to fear <03372> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430>, to walk <03212> in all <03605> his ways <01870>, and to love <0157> him, and to serve <05647> the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> with all <03605> thy heart <03824> and with all <03605> thy soul <05315>, {13} To keep <08104> the commandments <04687> of the LORD <03068>, and his statutes <02708>, which <0834> I command <06680> thee this day <03117> for thy good <02896>?
NRSV - 12 So now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you? Only to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to keep the commandments of the LORD your God and his decrees that I am commanding you today, for your own well-being.
TEV - "What God Demands" - 12 "Now, people of Israel, listen to what the LORD your God demands of you: Worship the LORD and do all that he commands. Love him, serve him with all your heart, 13 and obey all his laws. I am giving them to you today for your benefit. 14 To the LORD belong even the highest heavens; the earth is his also, and everything on it. 15 But the LORD's love for your ancestors was so strong that he chose you instead of any other people, and you are still his chosen people. 16 So then, from now on be obedient to the LORD and stop being stubborn.
KJV w/Strong# - {3} ...know <03045> that the LORD <03068> hath set <06395> apart <06395> him that is godly <02623> for himself: the LORD <03068> will hear <08085> when I call <07121> unto him. {4} Stand in awe <07264>, and sin <02398> not: commune <0559> with your own heart <03824> upon your bed <04904>, and be still <01826>. {5} Offer <02076> the sacrifices <02077> of righteousness <06664>, and put your trust <0982> in the LORD <03068>.
NRSV - 3 ...know that the LORD has set apart the faithful for himself; the LORD hears when I call to him. 4 When you are disturbed, do not sin; ponder it on your beds, and be silent. 5 Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the LORD.
TEV - "Evening Prayer for Help" - 1 Answer me when I pray, O God, my defender! When I was in trouble, you helped me. Be kind to me now and hear my prayer. 2 How long will you people insult me? How long will you love what is worthless and go after what is false? 3 Remember that the LORD has chosen the righteous for his own, and he hears me when I call to him. 4 Tremble with fear and stop sinning; think deeply about this, when you lie in silence on your beds. 5 Offer the right sacrifices to the LORD, and put your trust in him. 6 There are many who pray: "Give us more blessings, O LORD. Look on us with kindness!" 7 But the joy that you have given me is more than they will ever have with all their grain and wine. 8 When I lie down, I go to sleep in peace; you alone, O LORD, keep me perfectly safe.
KJV w/Strong# - {2} Give <03051> unto the LORD <03068> the glory <03519> due unto his name <08034>; worship <07812> the LORD <03068> in the beauty <01927> of holiness <06944>.
NRSV - 2 Ascribe to the LORD the glory of his name; worship the LORD in holy splendor.
TEV - "The Voice of the LORD in the Storm" - 1 Praise the LORD, you heavenly beings; praise his glory and power. 2 Praise the LORD's glorious name; bow down before the Holy One when he appears.
KJV w/Strong# - {14} Be ye not unequally <2086> yoked <2086> together <2086> with unbelievers <571>: for what <5101> fellowship <3352> hath righteousness <1343> with unrighteousness <458>? and what <5101> communion <2842> hath light <5457> with darkness <4655>?
{17} Wherefore <1352> come <1831> out from among <3319> them, and be ye separate <873>, saith <3004> the Lord <2962>, and touch <680> not the unclean <169> [thing]; and I will receive <1523> you, {18} And will be a Father <3962> unto you, and ye shall be my sons <5207> and daughters <2364>, saith <3004> the Lord <2962> Almighty <3841>.
NRSV - 14 Do not be mismatched with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship is there between light and darkness?
17 Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch nothing unclean; then I will welcome you, 18 and I will be your father, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."
TEV - "Warning against Pagan Influences" - 14 Do not try to work together as equals with unbelievers, for it cannot be done. How can right and wrong be partners? How can light and darkness live together? 15 How can Christ and the Devil agree? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16 How can God's temple come to terms with pagan idols? For we are the temple of the living God! As God himself has said, "I will make my home with my people and live among them; I will be their God, and they shall be my people." 17 And so the Lord says, "You must leave them and separate yourselves from them. Have nothing to do with what is unclean, and I will accept you. 18 I will be your father, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."
KJV w/Strong# - {21} Now <1161> he which stablisheth <950> us with you in Christ <5547>, and hath anointed <5548> us, [is] God <2316>; {22} Who <3588> hath also <2532> sealed <4972> us, and given <1325> the earnest <728> of the Spirit <4151> in our hearts <2588>.
NRSV - 21 ...it is God who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us, 22 by putting his seal on us and giving us his Spirit in our hearts as a first installment.
TEV - "The Change in Paul's Plans" - 21 It is God himself who makes us, together with you, sure of our life in union with Christ; it is God himself who has set us apart, 22 who has placed his mark of ownership upon us, and who has given us the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the guarantee of all that he has in store for us.

KJV w/Strong# - {1} In those <1565> days <2250> came <3854> John <2491> the Baptist <910>, preaching <2784> in the wilderness <2048> of Judaea <2449>, {2} And saying <3004>, Repent <3340> ye: for the kingdom <932> of heaven <3772> is at <1448> hand <1448>.
{11} I indeed <3303> baptize <907> you with water <5204> unto repentance <3341>: but he that cometh <2064> after <3694> me is mightier <2478> than I, whose <3739> shoes <5266> I am <1510> not worthy <2425> to bear <941>:...
{13} Then <5119> cometh <3854> Jesus <2424> from Galilee <1056> to Jordan <2446> unto John <2491>, to be baptized <907> of him. {14} But John <2491> forbad <1254> him, saying <3004>, I have <2192> need <5532> to be baptized <907> of thee, and comest <2064> thou to me? {15} And Jesus <2424> answering <611> said <2036> unto him, Suffer <863> [it to be so] now <737>: for thus <3779> it becometh <4241> us to fulfil <4137> all <3956> righteousness <1343>. Then <5119> he suffered <863> him. {16} And Jesus <2424>, when he was baptized <907>, went <305> up straightway <2117> out of the water <5204>: and, lo <2400>, the heavens <3772> were opened <455> unto him, and he saw <1492> the Spirit <4151> of God <2316> descending <2597> like <5616> a dove <4058>, and lighting <2064> upon him: {17} And lo <2400> a voice <5456> from heaven <3772>, saying <3004>, This <3778> is my beloved <27> Son <5207>, in whom <3739> I am well <2106> pleased <2106>.
NRSV - 1 In those days John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness of Judea, proclaiming, 2 "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near."
11 "I baptize you with water for repentance, but one who is more powerful than I is coming after me; I am not worthy to carry his sandals...
13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan, to be baptized by him. 14 John would have prevented him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?" 15 But Jesus answered him, "Let it be so now; for it is proper for us in this way to fulfill all righteousness." Then he consented. 16 And when Jesus had been baptized, just as he came up from the water, suddenly the heavens were opened to him and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased."
TEV - "The Preaching of John the Baptist" - 1 At that time John the Baptist came to the desert of Judea and started preaching. 2 "Turn away from your sins," he said, "because the Kingdom of heaven is near!" 3 John was the man the prophet Isaiah was talking about when he said, "Someone is shouting in the desert, "Prepare a road for the Lord; make a straight path for him to travel!" 4 John's clothes were made of camel's hair; he wore a leather belt around his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey. 5 People came to him from Jerusalem, from the whole province of Judea, and from all over the country near the Jordan River. 6 They confessed their sins, and he baptized them in the Jordan. 7 When John saw many Pharisees and Sadducees coming to him to be baptized, he said to them, "You snakes -- who told you that you could escape from the punishment God is about to send? 8 Do those things that will show that you have turned from your sins. 9 And don't think you can escape punishment by saying that Abraham is your ancestor. I tell you that God can take these rocks and make descendants for Abraham! 10 The ax is ready to cut down the trees at the roots; every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown in the fire. 11 I baptize you with water to show that you have repented, but the one who will come after me will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. He is much greater than I am; and I am not good enough even to carry his sandals.
"The Baptism of Jesus" - 13 At that time Jesus arrived from Galilee and came to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. 14 But John tried to make him change his mind. "I ought to be baptized by you," John said, "and yet you have come to me!" 15 But Jesus answered him, "Let it be so for now. For in this way we shall do all that God requires." So John agreed. 16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he came up out of the water. Then heaven was opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God coming down like a dove and lighting on him. 17 Then a voice said from heaven, "This is my own dear Son, with whom I am pleased."
KJV w/Strong# - {3} Who <04310> shall ascend <05927> into the hill <02022> of the LORD <03068>? or who <04310> shall stand <06965> in his holy <06944> place <04725>? {4} He that hath clean <05355> hands <03709>, and a pure <01249> heart <03824>; who <0834> hath not lifted <05375> up his soul <05315> unto vanity <07723>, nor <03808> sworn <07650> deceitfully <04820>.
NRSV - 3 Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place? 4 Those who have clean hands and pure hearts, who do not lift up their souls to what is false, and do not swear deceitfully.
TEV - "The Great King" - 3 Who has the right to go up the LORD's hill? Who may enter his holy Temple? 4 Those who are pure in act and in thought, who do not worship idols or make false promises. 5 The LORD will bless them and save them; God will declare them innocent. 6 Such are the people who come to God, who come into the presence of the God of Jacob.
KJV w/Strong# - {10} Create <01254> in me a clean <02889> heart <03820>, O God <0430>; and renew <02318> a right <03559> spirit <07307> within <07130> me.
{12} Restore <07725> unto me the joy <08342> of thy salvation <03468>; and uphold <05564> me [with thy] free <05082> spirit <07307>. {13} [Then] will I teach <03925> transgressors <06586> thy ways <01870>; and sinners <02400> shall be converted <07725> unto thee.
NRSV - 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and sustain in me a willing spirit. 13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you.
TEV - "A Prayer for Forgiveness" - 10 Create a pure heart in me, O God, and put a new and loyal spirit in me. 11 Do not banish me from your presence; do not take your holy spirit away from me. 12 Give me again the joy that comes from your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. 13 Then I will teach sinners your commands, and they will turn back to you.

KJV w/Strong# - {1} Then <5119> spake <2980> Jesus <2424> to the multitude <3793>, and to his disciples <3101>, {2} Saying <3004>, The scribes <1122> and the Pharisees <5330> sit <2523> in Moses' <3475> seat <2515>: {3} All <3956> therefore <3767> whatsoever <302> they bid <2036> you observe <5083>, [that] observe <5083> and do <4160>; but do <4160> not ye after <2596> their works <2041>: for they say <3004>, and do <4160> not.
NRSV - 1 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, 2 "The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat; 3 therefore, do whatever they teach you and follow it; but do not do as they do, for they do not practice what they teach.
TEV - "Jesus Warns against the Teachers of the Law and the Pharisees" - 1 Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples. 2 "The teachers of the Law and the Pharisees are the authorized interpreters of Moses' Law. 3 So you must obey and follow everything they tell you to do; do not, however, imitate their actions, because they don't practice what they preach. 4 They tie onto people's backs loads that are heavy and hard to carry, yet they aren't willing even to lift a finger to help them carry those loads.
KJV w/Strong# - {12} And it came <1096> to pass in those <5025> days <2250>, that he went <1831> out into <1519> a mountain <3735> to pray <4336>, and continued <1273> all <1273> night <1273> in prayer <4335> to God <2316>. {13} And when <3753> it was day <2250>, he called <4377> [unto him] his disciples <3101>: and of them he chose <1586> twelve <1427>, whom <3739> also <2532> he named <3687> apostles <652>;
{17} And he came <2597> down <2597> with them, and stood <2476> in the plain <3977> <5117>, and the company <3793> of his disciples <3101>, and a great <4183> multitude <4128> of people <2992> out of all <3956> Judaea <2449> and Jerusalem <2419>, and from the sea <3882> coast <3882> of Tyre <5184> and Sidon <4605>, which <3739> came <2064> to hear <191> him, and to be healed <2390> of their diseases <3554>; {18} And they that were vexed <3791> with unclean <169> spirits <4151>: and they were healed <2323>.
NRSV - 12 Now during those days he went out to the mountain to pray; and he spent the night in prayer to God. 13 And when day came, he called his disciples and chose twelve of them, whom he also named apostles:
17 He came down with them and stood on a level place, with a great crowd of his disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea, Jerusalem, and the coast of Tyre and Sidon. 18 They had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases; and those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured.
TEV - "Jesus Chooses the Twelve Apostles" - 12 At that time Jesus went up a hill to pray and spent the whole night there praying to God. 13 When day came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he named apostles: 14 Simon (whom he named Peter) and his brother Andrew; James and John, Philip and Bartholomew, 15 Matthew and Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, and Simon (who was called the Patriot), 16 Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became the traitor.
"Jesus Teaches and Heals" - 17 When Jesus had come down from the hill with the apostles, he stood on a level place with a large number of his disciples. A large crowd of people was there from all over Judea and from Jerusalem and from the coast cities of Tyre and Sidon; 18 they had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. Those who were troubled by evil spirits also came and were healed. 19 All the people tried to touch him, for power was going out from him and healing them all.
KJV w/Strong# - {1} Then <1161> he called <4779> his twelve <1427> disciples <3101> together <4779>, and gave <1325> them power <1411> and authority <1849> over <1909> all <3956> devils <1140>, and to cure <2323> diseases <3554>.
{6} And they departed <1831>, and went <1330> through <2596> the towns <2968>, preaching <2097> the gospel <2097>, and healing <2323> every <3837> where <3837>.
NRSV - 1 Then Jesus called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases,
6 They departed and went through the villages, bringing the good news and curing diseases everywhere.
TEV - "Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Disciples" - 1 Jesus called the twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases. 2 Then he sent them out to preach the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick, 3 after saying to them, "Take nothing with you for the trip: no walking stick, no beggar's bag, no food, no money, not even an extra shirt. 4 Wherever you are welcomed, stay in the same house until you leave that town; 5 wherever people don't welcome you, leave that town and shake the dust off your feet as a warning to them." 6 The disciples left and traveled through all the villages, preaching the Good News and healing people everywhere.
KJV w/Strong# - {23} ...the hour <5610> cometh <2064>, and now <3568> is, when <3753> the true <228> worshippers <4353> shall worship <4352> the Father <3962> in spirit <4151> and in truth <225>: for the Father <3962> seeketh <2212> such <5108> to worship <4352> him.
NRSV - 23 ...the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such as these to worship him.
TEV - "Jesus and the Samaritan Woman" - 21 Jesus said to her, "Believe me, woman, the time will come when people will not worship the Father either on this mountain or in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans do not really know whom you worship; but we Jews know whom we worship, because it is from the Jews that salvation comes. 23 But the time is coming and is already here, when by the power of God's Spirit people will worship the Father as he really is, offering him the true worship that he wants. 24 God is Spirit, and only by the power of his Spirit can people worship him as he really is."

KJV w/Strong# - {17} And Jesus <2424> going <305> up to Jerusalem <2414> took <3880> the twelve <1427> disciples <3101> apart <2398> in the way <3598>, and said <2036> unto them, {18} Behold <2400>, we go <305> up to Jerusalem <2414>; and the Son <5207> of man <444> shall be betrayed <3860> unto the chief <749> priests <749> and unto the scribes <1122>, and they shall condemn <2632> him to death <2288>, {19} And shall deliver <3860> him to the Gentiles <1484> to mock <1702>, and to scourge <3146>, and to crucify <4717> [him]: and the third <5154> day <2250> he shall rise <450> again <450>.
NRSV - 17 While Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside by themselves, and said to them on the way, 18 "See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death; 19 then they will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified; and on the third day he will be raised."
TEV - "Jesus Speaks a Third Time about His Death" - 17 As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside and spoke to them privately, as they walked along. 18 "Listen," he told them, "we are going up to Jerusalem, where the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the teachers of the Law. They will condemn him to death 19 and then hand him over to the Gentiles, who will make fun of him, whip him, and crucify him; but three days later he will be raised to life."
KJV w/Strong# - {1} Now <1161> the feast <1859> of unleavened <106> bread drew nigh <1448>, which is called <3004> the Passover <3957>.
{14} And when <3588> the hour <5610> was come <1096>, he sat <377> down <377>, and the twelve <1427> apostles <652> with him. {15} And he said <2036> unto them, With desire <1939> I have desired <1937> to eat <5315> this <5124> passover <3957> with you before <4253> I suffer <3958>:
{17} And he took <1209> the cup <4221>, and gave thanks <2168>, and said <2036>, Take <2983> this <5124>, and divide <1266> [it] among yourselves <1438>: {18} For I say <3004> unto you, I will not drink <4095> of the fruit <1081> of the vine <288>, until <2193> the kingdom <932> of God <2316> shall come <2064>. {19} And he took <2983> bread <740>, and gave thanks <2168>, and brake <2806> [it], and gave <1325> unto them, saying <3004>, This <5124> is my body <4983> which <3588> is given <1325> for you: this <5124> do <4160> in remembrance <364> of me. {20} Likewise <5615> also <2532> the cup <4221> after <3326> supper <1172>, saying <3004>, This <5124> cup <4221> [is] the new <2537> testament <1242> in my blood <129>, which <3588> is shed <1632> for you.
NRSV - 1 Now the festival of Unleavened Bread, which is called the Passover, was near.
14 When the hour came, he took his place at the table, and the apostles with him. 15 He said to them, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer;
17 Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he said, "Take this and divide it among yourselves; 18 for I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes." 19 Then he took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me." 20 And he did the same with the cup after supper, saying, "This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.
TEV - "The Plot against Jesus" - 1 The time was near for the Festival of Unleavened Bread, which is called the Passover. 2 The chief priests and the teachers of the Law were afraid of the people, and so they were trying to find a way of putting Jesus to death secretly.
"The Lord's Supper" - 14 When the hour came, Jesus took his place at the table with the apostles. 15 He said to them, "I have wanted so much to eat this Passover meal with you before I suffer! 16 For I tell you, I will never eat it until it is given its full meaning in the Kingdom of God." 17 Then Jesus took a cup, gave thanks to God, and said, "Take this and share it among yourselves. 18 I tell you that from now on I will not drink this wine until the Kingdom of God comes." 19 Then he took a piece of bread, gave thanks to God, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in memory of me." 20 In the same way, he gave them the cup after the supper, saying, "This cup is God's new covenant sealed with my blood, which is poured out for you. 21 "But, look! The one who betrays me is here at the table with me! 22 The Son of Man will die as God has decided, but how terrible for that man who betrays him!" 23 Then they began to ask among themselves which one of them it could be who was going to do this.
KJV w/Strong# - {1} And straightway <2112> in the morning <4404> the chief <749> priests <749> held <4160> a consultation <4824> with the elders <4245> and scribes <1122> and the whole <3650> council <4892>, and bound <1210> Jesus <2424>, and carried <667> [him] away <667>, and delivered <3860> [him] to Pilate <4091>.
{25} And it was the third <5154> hour <5610>, and they crucified <4717> him.
NRSV - 1 As soon as it was morning, the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council. They bound Jesus, led him away, and handed him over to Pilate.
25 It was nine o'clock in the morning when they crucified him.
TEV - "Jesus before Pilate" - 1 Early in the morning the chief priests met hurriedly with the elders, the teachers of the Law, and the whole Council, and made their plans. They put Jesus in chains, led him away, and handed him over to Pilate. 2 Pilate questioned him, "Are you the king of the Jews?" Jesus answered, "So you say." 3 The chief priests were accusing Jesus of many things, 4 so Pilate questioned him again, "Aren't you going to answer? Listen to all their accusations!" 5 Again Jesus refused to say a word, and Pilate was amazed.
"Jesus Is Crucified" - 21 On the way they met a man named Simon, who was coming into the city from the country, and the soldiers forced him to carry Jesus' cross. (Simon was from Cyrene and was the father of Alexander and Rufus.) 22 They took Jesus to a place called Golgotha, which means "The Place of the Skull." 23 There they tried to give him wine mixed with a drug called myrrh, but Jesus would not drink it. 24 Then they crucified him and divided his clothes among themselves, throwing dice to see who would get which piece of clothing. 25 It was nine o'clock in the morning when they crucified him. 26 The notice of the accusation against him said: "The King of the Jews." 27 They also crucified two bandits with Jesus, one on his right and the other on his left.

KJV w/Strong# - {9} Now <1161> when [Jesus] was risen <450> early <4404> the first <4413> [day] of the week <4521>, he appeared <5316> first <4412> to Mary <3137> Magdalene <3094>, out of whom <3739> he had cast <1544> seven <2033> devils <1140>. {10} [And] she went <4198> and told <518> them that had been <1096> with him, as they mourned <3996> and wept <2799>.
NRSV - 9 THE LONGER ENDING OF MARK [[Now after he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons. 10 She went out and told those who had been with him, while they were mourning and weeping.]]
TEV - "AN OLD ENDING TO THE GOSPEL" - {9 After Jesus rose from death early on Sunday, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had driven out seven demons. 10 She went and told his companions. They were mourning and crying; 11 and when they heard her say that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe her.}
{Note: Bruce Metzger (A Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testament, Second Edition, New York: United Bible Societies, 1994, page 105-106) writes, "On the basis of good external evidence and strong internal considerations it appears that the earliest ascertainable form of the Gospel of Mark ended with 16.8. At the same time, however, out of deference to the evident antiquity of the longer ending and its importance in the textual tradition of the Gospel, the Committee [the Editorial Committee of the United Bible Societies' Greek New Testament, of which Dr. Metzger is a member] decided to include verses 9-20 as part of the text, but to enclose them within double square brackets in order to indicate that they are the work of an author other than the evangelist."}
KJV w/Strong# - {2} There were together <3674> Simon <4613> Peter <4074>, and Thomas <2381> called <3004> Didymus <1324>, and Nathanael <3482> of Cana <2580> in Galilee <1056>, and the [sons] of Zebedee <2199>, and two <1417> other <243> of his disciples <3101>. {3} Simon <4613> Peter <4074> saith <3004> unto them, I go <5217> a fishing <232>. They say <3004> unto him, We also <2532> go <2064> with thee. They went <1831> forth <1831>, and entered <305> into <1519> a ship <4143> immediately <2117>; and that night <3571> they caught <4084> nothing <3762>. {4} But when the morning <4405> was now <2235> come <1096>, Jesus <2424> stood <2476> on <1519> the shore <123>: but <3305> the disciples <3101> knew <1492> not that it was Jesus <2424>. {5} Then <3767> Jesus <2424> saith <3004> unto them, Children <3813>, have <2192> ye any <3387> meat <4371>? They answered <611> him, No <3756>. {6} And he said <2036> unto them, Cast <906> the net <1350> on <1519> the right <1188> side <3313> of the ship <4143>, and ye shall find <2147>. They cast <906> therefore <3767>, and now <3765> they were not able <2480> to draw <1670> it for the multitude <4128> of fishes <2486>.
{9} As soon then <3767> as they were come <576> to land <1093>, they saw <991> a fire of coals <439> there, and fish <3795> laid <2749> thereon <1945>, and bread <740>.
{12} Jesus <2424> saith <3004> unto them, Come <1205> [and] dine <709>. And none <3762> of the disciples <3101> durst <5111> ask <1833> him, Who <5101> art <1488> thou? knowing <1492> that it was the Lord <2962>.
NRSV - 2 Gathered there together were Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples. 3 Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We will go with you." They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. 4 Just after daybreak, Jesus stood on the beach; but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5 Jesus said to them, "Children, you have no fish, have you?" They answered him, "No." 6 He said to them, "Cast the net to the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in because there were so many fish.
9 When they had gone ashore, they saw a charcoal fire there, with fish on it, and bread.
12 Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast." Now none of the disciples dared to ask him, "Who are you?" because they knew it was the Lord.
TEV - "Jesus Appears to Seven Disciples" - 1 After this, Jesus appeared once more to his disciples at Lake Tiberias. This is how it happened. 2 Simon Peter, Thomas (called the Twin), Nathanael (the one from Cana in Galilee), the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples of Jesus were all together. 3 Simon Peter said to the others, "I am going fishing." "We will come with you," they told him. So they went out in a boat, but all that night they did not catch a thing. 4 As the sun was rising, Jesus stood at the water's edge, but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5 Then he asked them, "Young men, haven't you caught anything?" "Not a thing," they answered. 6 He said to them, "Throw your net out on the right side of the boat, and you will catch some." So they threw the net out and could not pull it back in, because they had caught so many fish. 7 The disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" When Peter heard that it was the Lord, he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken his clothes off) and jumped into the water. 8 The other disciples came to shore in the boat, pulling the net full of fish. They were not very far from land, about a hundred yards away. 9 When they stepped ashore, they saw a charcoal fire there with fish on it and some bread. 10 Then Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish you have just caught." 11 Simon Peter went aboard and dragged the net ashore full of big fish, a hundred and fifty-three in all; even though there were so many, still the net did not tear. 12 Jesus said to them, "Come and eat." None of the disciples dared ask him, "Who are you?" because they knew it was the Lord. 13 So Jesus went over, took the bread, and gave it to them; he did the same with the fish. 14 This, then, was the third time Jesus appeared to the disciples after he was raised from death.

KJV w/Strong# - {33} And with great <3173> power <1411> gave <591> the apostles <652> witness <3142> of the resurrection <386> of the Lord <2962> Jesus <2424>: and great <3173> grace <5485> was upon them all <3956>.
NRSV - 33 With great power the apostles gave their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.
TEV - "The Believers Share Their Possessions" - 32 The group of believers was one in mind and heart. No one said that any of his belongings was his own, but they all shared with one another everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God poured rich blessings on them all. 34 There was no one in the group who was in need. Those who owned fields or houses would sell them, bring the money received from the sale, 35 and turn it over to the apostles; and the money was distributed to each one according to his need. 36 And so it was that Joseph, a Levite born in Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means "One who Encourages"), 37 sold a field he owned, brought the money, and turned it over to the apostles.
KJV w/Strong# - {12} And by the hands <5495> of the apostles <652> were many <4183> signs <4592> and wonders <5059> wrought <1096> among <1722> the people <2992>; (and they were all <537> with one <3661> accord <3661> in Solomon's <4672> porch <4745>.
{14} And believers <4100> were the more <3123> added <4369> to the Lord <2962>, multitudes <4128> both <5037> of men <435> and women <1135>.)
{16} There came <4905> also <2532> a multitude <4128> [out] of the cities <4172> round <4038> about <4038> unto Jerusalem <2419>, bringing <5342> sick <772> folks, and them which were vexed <3791> with unclean <169> spirits <4151>: and they were healed <2323> every <537> one.
NRSV - 12 Now many signs and wonders were done among the people through the apostles. And they were all together in Solomon's Portico.
14 Yet more than ever believers were added to the Lord, great numbers of both men and women,
16 A great number of people would also gather from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all cured.
TEV - "Miracles and Wonders" - 12 Many miracles and wonders were being performed among the people by the apostles. All the believers met together in Solomon's Porch. 13 Nobody outside the group dared join them, even though the people spoke highly of them. 14 But more and more people were added to the group -- a crowd of men and women who believed in the Lord. 15 As a result of what the apostles were doing, sick people were carried out into the streets and placed on beds and mats so that at least Peter's shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. 16 And crowds of people came in from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing those who were sick or who had evil spirits in them; and they were all healed.
KJV w/Strong# - {32} And it came <1096> to pass <1330>, as Peter <4074> passed <1330> throughout <1223> all <3956> [quarters], he came <2718> down <2718> also <2532> to the saints <40> which <3588> dwelt <2730> at Lydda <3069>. {33} And there <1563> he found <2147> a certain <5100> man <444> named <3686> Aeneas <132>, which had kept <2621> his bed <2895> eight <3638> years <2094>, and was sick <3886> of the palsy <3886>. {34} And Peter <4074> said <2036> unto him, Aeneas <132>, Jesus <2424> Christ <5547> maketh <2390> thee whole <2390>: arise <450>, and make <4766> thy <4572> bed <4766>. And he arose <450> immediately <2112>. {35} And all <3956> that dwelt <2730> at Lydda <3069> and Saron <4565> saw <1492> him, and turned <1994> to the Lord <2962>.
NRSV - 32 Now as Peter went here and there among all the believers, he came down also to the saints living in Lydda. 33 There he found a man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden for eight years, for he was paralyzed. 34 Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; get up and make your bed!" And immediately he got up. 35 And all the residents of Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.
TEV - "Peter in Lydda and Joppa" - 32 Peter traveled everywhere, and on one occasion he went to visit God's people who lived in Lydda. 33 There he met a man named Aeneas, who was paralyzed and had not been able to get out of bed for eight years. 34 "Aeneas," Peter said to him, "Jesus Christ makes you well. Get up and make your bed." At once Aeneas got up. 35 All the people living in Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.
KJV w/Strong# - {10} As every <1538> man hath received <2983> the gift <5486>, [even so] minister <1247> the same <846> one <1438> to another <1438>, as good <2570> stewards <3623> of the manifold <4164> grace <5485> of God <2316>. {11} If <1487> any <1536> man speak <2980>, [let him speak] as the oracles <3051> of God <2316>; if <1487> any <1536> man minister <1247>, [let him do it] as of the ability <2479> which <3739> God <2316> giveth <5524>: that God <2316> in all <3956> things may be glorified <1392> through <1223> Jesus <2424> Christ <5547>, to whom <3739> be praise <1391> and dominion <2904> for ever <165> and ever <165>. Amen <281>.
NRSV - 10 Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received. 11 Whoever speaks must do so as one speaking the very words of God; whoever serves must do so with the strength that God supplies, so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ. To him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
TEV - "Good Managers of God's Gifts" - 7 The end of all things is near. You must be self-controlled and alert, to be able to pray. 8 Above everything, love one another earnestly, because love covers over many sins. 9 Open your homes to each other without complaining. 10 Each one, as a good manager of God's different gifts, must use for the good of others the special gift he has received from God. 11 Whoever preaches must preach God's messages; whoever serves must serve with the strength that God gives him, so that in all things praise may be given to God through Jesus Christ, to whom belong glory and power forever and ever. Amen.
