KJV w/Strong# - {12} ...they that war <04421> against thee shall be as nothing <0369>, and as a thing of nought <0657>. {13} For I the LORD <03068> thy God <0430> will hold <02388> thy right <03225> hand <03225>, saying <0559> unto thee, Fear <03372> not; I will help <05826> thee.
NRSV - 12 ...those who war against you shall be as nothing at all. 13 For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, "Do not fear, I will help you."
TEV - "God's Assurance to Israel" - 11 "Those who are angry with you will know the shame of defeat. Those who fight against you will die 12 and will disappear from the earth. 13 I am the LORD your God; I strengthen you and tell you, "Do not be afraid; I will help you."
KJV w/Strong# - {1} He that dwelleth <03427> in the secret <05643> place of the most <05945> High <05945> shall abide <03885> under the shadow <06738> of the Almighty <07706>. {2} I will say <0559> of the LORD <03068>, [He is] my refuge <04268> and my fortress <04686>: my God <0430>; in him will I trust <0982>. {3} Surely <03588> he shall deliver <05337> thee from the snare <06341> of the fowler <03353>, [and] from the noisome <01942> pestilence <01698>. {4} He shall cover <05526> thee with his feathers <084>, and under <08478> his wings <03671> shalt thou trust <02620>: his truth <0571> [shall be thy] shield <06793> and buckler <05507>. {5} Thou shalt not be afraid <03372> for the terror <06343> by night <03915>; [nor] for the arrow <02671> [that] flieth <05774> by day <03119>; {6} [Nor] for the pestilence <01698> [that] walketh <01980> in darkness <0952>; [nor] for the destruction <06986> [that] wasteth <07736> at noonday <06672>.
{9} Because <03588> thou hast made <07760> the LORD <03068>, [which is] my refuge <04268>, [even] the most <05945> High <05945>, thy habitation <04583>; {10} There shall no <03808> evil <07451> befall <0579> thee, neither <03808> shall any plague <05061> come <07126> nigh <07126> thy dwelling <0168>. {11} For he shall give his angels <04397> charge <06680> over thee, to keep <08104> thee in all <03605> thy ways <01870>.
NRSV - 1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, 2 will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust." 3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence; 4 he will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. 5 You will not fear the terror of the night, or the arrow that flies by day, 6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
9 Because you have made the LORD your refuge, the Most High your dwelling place, 10 no evil shall befall you, no scourge come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
TEV - "God Our Protector" - 1 Whoever goes to the LORD for safety, whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty, 2 can say to him, "You are my defender and protector. You are my God; in you I trust." 3 He will keep you safe from all hidden dangers and from all deadly diseases. 4 He will cover you with his wings; you will be safe in his care; his faithfulness will protect and defend you. 5 You need not fear any dangers at night or sudden attacks during the day 6 or the plagues that strike in the dark or the evils that kill in daylight.
9 You have made the LORD your defender, the Most High your protector, 10 and so no disaster will strike you, no violence will come near your home. 11 God will put his angels in charge of you to protect you wherever you go. 12 They will hold you up with their hands to keep you from hurting your feet on the stones. 13 You will trample down lions and snakes, fierce lions and poisonous snakes.
<B1> Isaiah 45
KJV w/Strong# - {5} I [am] the LORD <03068>, and [there is] none <0369> else <05750>, [there is] no <0369> God <0430> beside <02108> me:...
{12} I have made <06213> the earth <0776>, and created <01254> man <0120> upon it: I, [even] my hands <03027>, have stretched <05186> out the heavens <08064>, and all <03605> their host <06635> have I commanded <06680>.
NRSV - 5 I am the LORD, and there is no other; besides me there is no god...
12 I made the earth, and created humankind upon it; it was my hands that stretched out the heavens, and I commanded all their host.
TEV - "The LORD Appoints Cyrus" - 5 "I am the LORD; there is no other god. I will give you the strength you need, although you do not know me. 6 I do this so that everyone from one end of the world to the other may know that I am the LORD and that there is no other god. 7 I create both light and darkness; I bring both blessing and disaster. I, the LORD, do all these things. 8 I will send victory from the sky like rain; the earth will open to receive it and will blossom with freedom and justice. I, the LORD, will make this happen."
"The LORD of Creation and History" - 9 Does a clay pot dare argue with its maker, a pot that is like all the others? Does the clay ask the potter what he is doing? Does the pot complain that its maker has no skill? 10 Does anyone dare say to his parents, "Why did you make me like this?" 11 The LORD, the holy God of Israel, the one who shapes the future, says: "You have no right to question me about my children or to tell me what I ought to do! 12 I am the one who made the earth and created mankind to live there. By my power I stretched out the heavens; I control the sun, the moon, and the stars.
KJV w/Strong# - {10} Fear <03372> thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed <08159>; for I [am] thy God <0430>: I will strengthen <0553> thee; yea <0637>, I will help <05826> thee; yea <0637>, I will uphold <08551> thee with the right <03225> hand <03225> of my righteousness <06664>. {11} Behold <02005>, all <03605> they that were incensed <02734> against thee shall be ashamed <0954> and confounded <03637>: they shall be as nothing <0369>; and they that strive <07379> with thee shall perish <06>.
NRSV - 10 do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. 11 Yes, all who are incensed against you shall be ashamed and disgraced; those who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish.
TEV - "God's Assurance to Israel" - 8 "But you, Israel my servant, you are the people that I have chosen, the descendants of Abraham, my friend. 9 I brought you from the ends of the earth; I called you from its farthest corners and said to you, "You are my servant.' I did not reject you, but chose you. 10 Do not be afraid -- I am with you! I am your God -- let nothing terrify you! I will make you strong and help you; I will protect you and save you. 11 "Those who are angry with you will know the shame of defeat. Those who fight against you will die 12 and will disappear from the earth. 13 I am the LORD your God; I strengthen you and tell you, "Do not be afraid; I will help you."
KJV w/Strong# - {2} Bless <01288> the LORD <03068>, O my soul <05315>, and forget <07911> not all <03605> his benefits <01576>: {3} Who forgiveth <05545> all <03605> thine iniquities <05771>; who healeth <07495> all <03605> thy diseases <08463>; {4} Who redeemeth <01350> thy life <02416> from destruction <07845>; who crowneth <05849> thee with lovingkindness <02617> and tender mercies <07356>;
NRSV - 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefits -- 3 who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, 4 who redeems your life from the Pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
TEV - "The Love of God" - 1 Praise the LORD, my soul! All my being, praise his holy name! 2 Praise the LORD, my soul, and do not forget how kind he is. 3 He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. 4 He keeps me from the grave and blesses me with love and mercy. 5 He fills my life with good things, so that I stay young and strong like an eagle.
KJV w/Strong# - {6} I have called <07121> upon thee, for thou wilt hear <06030> me, O God <0410>: incline <05186> thine ear <0241> unto me, [and hear <08085>] my speech <0565>. {7} Shew thy marvellous <06395> lovingkindness <02617>, O thou that savest <03467> by thy right <03225> hand <03225> them which put their trust <02620> [in thee] from those that rise <06965> up [against them].
{15} As for me, I will behold <02372> thy face <06440> in righteousness <06664>: I shall be satisfied <07646>, when I awake <06974>, with thy likeness <08544>.
NRSV - 6 I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God; incline your ear to me, hear my words. 7 Wondrously show your steadfast love, O savior of those who seek refuge from their adversaries at your right hand.
15 As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; when I awake I shall be satisfied, beholding your likeness.
TEV - "The Prayer of an Innocent Man" - 6 I pray to you, O God, because you answer me; so turn to me and listen to my words. 7 Reveal your wonderful love and save me; at your side I am safe from my enemies. 8 Protect me as you would your very eyes; hide me in the shadow of your wings 9 from the attacks of the wicked. Deadly enemies surround me; 10 they have no pity and speak proudly. 11 They are around me now, wherever I turn, watching for a chance to pull me down. 12 They are like lions, waiting for me, wanting to tear me to pieces. 13 Come, LORD! Oppose my enemies and defeat them! Save me from the wicked by your sword; 14 save me from those who in this life have all they want. Punish them with the sufferings you have stored up for them; may there be enough for their children and some left over for their children's children! 15 But I will see you, because I have done no wrong; and when I awake, your presence will fill me with joy.
<B5> John 3
KJV w/Strong# - {16} For God <2316> so <3779> loved <25> the world <2889>, that he gave <1325> his only <3439> begotten <3439> Son <5207>, that whosoever <3588> believeth <4100> in him should not perish <622>, but have <2192> everlasting <166> life <2222>.
NRSV - 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.
TEV - "Jesus and Nicodemus" - 14 As Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the desert, in the same way the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. 16 For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to be its judge, but to be its savior.
KJV w/Strong# - {14} Now <1161> after <3326> that John <2491> was put <3860> in prison <3860>, Jesus <2424> came <2064> into <1519> Galilee <1056>, preaching <2784> the gospel <2098> of the kingdom <932> of God <2316>, {15} And saying <3004>, The time <2540> is fulfilled <4137>, and the kingdom <932> of God <2316> is at <1448> hand <1448>: repent <3340> ye, and believe <1722> the gospel <2098>.
{32} And at even <3798>, when <3753> the sun <2246> did set <1416>, they brought <5342> unto him all <3956> that were diseased <2560>, and them that were possessed <1139> with devils <1139>. {33} And all <3650> the city <4172> was gathered <1996> together <1996> at <4314> the door <2374>. {34} And he healed <2323> many <4183> that were sick <2560> of divers <4164> diseases <3554>, and cast <1544> out many <4183> devils <1140>; and suffered <863> not the devils <1140> to speak <2980>, because <3754> they knew <1492> him.
NRSV - 14 Now after John was arrested, Jesus came to Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God, 15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the good news."
32 That evening, at sundown, they brought to him all who were sick or possessed with demons. 33 And the whole city was gathered around the door. 34 And he cured many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him.
TEV - "Jesus Calls Four Fishermen" - 14 After John had been put in prison, Jesus went to Galilee and preached the Good News from God. 15 "The right time has come," he said, "and the Kingdom of God is near! Turn away from your sins and believe the Good News!" 16 As Jesus walked along the shore of Lake Galilee, he saw two fishermen, Simon and his brother Andrew, catching fish with a net. 17 Jesus said to them, "Come with me, and I will teach you to catch men." 18 At once they left their nets and went with him.
"Jesus Heals Many People" - 29 Jesus and his disciples, including James and John, left the synagogue and went straight to the home of Simon and Andrew. 30 Simon's mother-in-law was sick in bed with a fever, and as soon as Jesus arrived, he was told about her. 31 He went to her, took her by the hand, and helped her up. The fever left her, and she began to wait on them. 32 After the sun had set and evening had come, people brought to Jesus all the sick and those who had demons. 33 All the people of the town gathered in front of the house. 34 Jesus healed many who were sick with all kinds of diseases and drove out many demons. He would not let the demons say anything, because they knew who he was.
KJV w/Strong# - {2} Now <1161> when John <2491> had heard <191> in the prison <1201> the works <2041> of Christ <5547>, he sent <3992> two <1417> of his disciples <3101>, {3} And said <2036> unto him, Art <1488> thou he that should come <2064>, or <2228> do we look <4328> for another <2087>? {4} Jesus <2424> answered <611> and said <2036> unto them, Go <4198> and shew <518> John <2491> again <518> those things which <3739> ye do hear <191> and see <991>: {5} The blind <5185> receive <308> their sight <308>, and the lame <5560> walk <4043>, the lepers <3015> are cleansed <2511>, and the deaf <2974> hear <191>, the dead <3498> are raised <1453> up, and the poor <4434> have the gospel <2097> preached <2097> to them. {6} And blessed <3107> is [he], whosoever <3362> shall not <3362> be offended <4624> in me.
NRSV - 2 When John heard in prison what the Messiah was doing, he sent word by his disciples 3 and said to him, "Are you the one who is to come, or are we to wait for another?" 4 Jesus answered them, "Go and tell John what you hear and see: 5 the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have good news brought to them. 6 And blessed is anyone who takes no offense at me."
TEV - "The Messengers from John the Baptist" - 2 When John the Baptist heard in prison about the things that Christ was doing, he sent some of his disciples to him. 3 "Tell us," they asked Jesus, "are you the one John said was going to come, or should we expect someone else?" 4 Jesus answered, "Go back and tell John what you are hearing and seeing: 5 the blind can see, the lame can walk, those who suffer from dreaded skin diseases are made clean, the deaf hear, the dead are brought back to life, and the Good News is preached to the poor. 6 How happy are those who have no doubts about me!"
<B8> Job 11
KJV w/Strong# - {14} If <0518> iniquity <0205> [be] in thine hand <03027>, put it far <07350> away, and let not wickedness <05766> dwell <07931> in thy tabernacles <0168>. {15} For then <0227> shalt thou lift <05375> up thy face <06440> without spot <03971>; yea, thou shalt be stedfast <03332>, and shalt not fear <03372>:
{18} And thou shalt be secure <0982>, because <03588> there is hope <08615>;...
NRSV - 14 If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away, and do not let wickedness reside in your tents. 15 Surely then you will lift up your face without blemish; you will be secure, and will not fear.
18 And you will have confidence, because there is hope;...
TEV - "The First Dialogue" - 13 Put your heart right, Job. Reach out to God. 14 Put away evil and wrong from your home. 15 Then face the world again, firm and courageous. 16 Then all your troubles will fade from your memory, like floods that are past and remembered no more. 17 Your life will be brighter than sunshine at noon, and life's darkest hours will shine like the dawn. 18 You will live secure and full of hope; God will protect you and give you rest. 19 You won't be afraid of your enemies; many people will ask you for help.
KJV w/Strong# - {1} And [Jesus] entered <1525> and passed <1330> through <1330> Jericho <2410>. {2} And, behold <2400>, [there was] a man <435> named <2564> Zacchaeus <2195>, which <846> was the chief <754> among the publicans <754>, and he was rich <4145>. {3} And he sought <2212> to see <1492> Jesus <2424> who <5101> he was; and could <1410> not for the press <3793>, because <3754> he was little <3398> of stature <2244>. {4} And he ran <4390> before <1715>, and climbed <305> up into <1909> a sycomore <4809> tree <4809> to see <1492> him: for he was to pass <1330> that [way]. {5} And when <5613> Jesus <2424> came <2064> to the place <5117>, he looked <308> up, and saw <1492> him, and said <2036> unto him, Zacchaeus <2195>, make <4692> haste <4692>, and come <2597> down <2597>; for to day <4594> I must <1163> abide <3306> at <1722> thy house <3624>. {6} And he made <4692> haste <4692>, and came <2597> down <2597>, and received <5264> him joyfully <5463>. {7} And when they saw <1492> [it], they all <537> murmured <1234>, saying <3004>, That he was gone <1525> to be guest <2647> with a man <435> that is a sinner <268>. {8} And Zacchaeus <2195> stood <2476>, and said <2036> unto the Lord <2962>; Behold <2400>, Lord <2962>, the half <2255> of my goods <5224> I give <1325> to the poor <4434>; and if <1487> I have taken any <5100> thing from any <1536> man by false <4811> accusation <4811>, I restore <591> [him] fourfold <5073>. {9} And Jesus <2424> said <2036> unto him, This <4594> day <4594> is salvation <4991> come <1096> to this <5129> house <3624>, forsomuch <2530> as he also <2532> is a son <5207> of Abraham <11>. {10} For the Son <5207> of man <444> is come <2064> to seek <2212> and to save <4982> that which was lost <622>.
NRSV - 1 He entered Jericho and was passing through it. 2 A man was there named Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was rich. 3 He was trying to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was short in stature. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree to see him, because he was going to pass that way. 5 When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, hurry and come down; for I must stay at your house today." 6 So he hurried down and was happy to welcome him. 7 All who saw it began to grumble and said, "He has gone to be the guest of one who is a sinner." 8 Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, "Look, half of my possessions, Lord, I will give to the poor; and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will pay back four times as much." 9 Then Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because he too is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek out and to save the lost."
TEV - "Jesus and Zacchaeus" - 1 Jesus went on into Jericho and was passing through. 2 There was a chief tax collector there named Zacchaeus, who was rich. 3 He was trying to see who Jesus was, but he was a little man and could not see Jesus because of the crowd. 4 So he ran ahead of the crowd and climbed a sycamore tree to see Jesus, who was going to pass that way. 5 When Jesus came to that place, he looked up and said to Zacchaeus, "Hurry down, Zacchaeus, because I must stay in your house today." 6 Zacchaeus hurried down and welcomed him with great joy. 7 All the people who saw it started grumbling, "This man has gone as a guest to the home of a sinner!" 8 Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Listen, sir! I will give half my belongings to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone, I will pay him back four times as much." 9 Jesus said to him, "Salvation has come to this house today, for this man, also, is a descendant of Abraham. 10 The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."

KJV w/Strong# - {10} ...fear <03372> thou not, O my servant <05650> Jacob <03290>, saith <05002> the LORD <03068>; neither <0408> be dismayed <02865>, O Israel <03478>: for, lo <02009>, I will save <03467> thee from afar <07350>, and thy seed <02233> from the land <0776> of their captivity <07628>; and Jacob <03290> shall return <07725>, and shall be in rest <08252>, and be quiet <07599>, and none <0369> shall make [him] afraid <02729>.

NRSV - 10 ...have no fear, my servant Jacob, says the LORD, and do not be dismayed, O Israel; for I am going to save you from far away, and your offspring from the land of their captivity. Jacob shall return and have quiet and ease, and no one shall make him afraid.
17 For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, says the LORD,...
TEV - "The LORD's Promises to His People" - 8 The LORD Almighty says, "When that day comes, I will break the yoke that is around their neck and remove their chains, and they will no longer be the slaves of foreigners. 9 Instead, they will serve me, the LORD their God, and a descendant of David, whom I will enthrone as king. 10 "My people, do not be afraid; people of Israel, do not be terrified. I will rescue you from that faraway land, from the land where you are prisoners. You will come back home and live in peace; you will be secure, and no one will make you afraid.
16 But now, all who devour you will be devoured, and all your enemies will be taken away as prisoners. All who oppress you will be oppressed, and all who plunder you will be plundered. 17 I will make you well again; I will heal your wounds, though your enemies say, "Zion is an outcast; no one cares about her.' I, the LORD, have spoken."
KJV w/Strong# - {3} Strengthen <02388> ye the weak <07504> hands <03027>, and confirm <0553> the feeble <03782> knees <01290>. {4} Say <0559> to them [that are] of a fearful <04116> heart <03820>, Be strong <02388>, fear <03372> not: behold <02009>, your God <0430> will come <0935> [with] vengeance <05359>, [even] God <0430> [with] a recompence <01576>; he will come <0935> and save <03467> you. {5} Then <0227> the eyes <05869> of the blind <05787> shall be opened <06491>, and the ears <0241> of the deaf <02795> shall be unstopped <06605>. {6} Then <0227> shall the lame <06455> [man] leap <01801> as an hart <0354>, and the tongue <03956> of the dumb <0483> sing <07442>: for in the wilderness <04057> shall waters <04325> break <01234> out, and streams <05158> in the desert <06160>.
{10} And the ransomed <06299> of the LORD <03068> shall return <07725>, and come <0935> to Zion <06726> with songs <07440> and everlasting <05769> joy <08057> upon their heads <07218>: they shall obtain <05381> joy <08057> and gladness <08057>, and sorrow <03015> and sighing <0585> shall flee <05127> away.
NRSV - 3 Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. 4 Say to those who are of a fearful heart, "Be strong, do not fear! Here is your God. He will come with vengeance, with terrible recompense. He will come and save you." 5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped; 6 then the lame shall leap like a deer, and the tongue of the speechless sing for joy. For waters shall break forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert;
10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
TEV - "The Road of Holiness" - 1 The desert will rejoice, and flowers will bloom in the wastelands. 2 The desert will sing and shout for joy; it will be as beautiful as the Lebanon Mountains and as fertile as the fields of Carmel and Sharon. Everyone will see the LORD's splendor, see his greatness and power. 3 Give strength to hands that are tired and to knees that tremble with weakness. 4 Tell everyone who is discouraged, "Be strong and don't be afraid! God is coming to your rescue, coming to punish your enemies." 5 The blind will be able to see, and the deaf will hear. 6 The lame will leap and dance, and those who cannot speak will shout for joy. Streams of water will flow through the desert; 7 the burning sand will become a lake, and dry land will be filled with springs. Where jackals used to live, marsh grass and reeds will grow. 8 There will be a highway there, called "The Road of Holiness." No sinner will ever travel that road; no fools will mislead those who follow it. 9 No lions will be there; no fierce animals will pass that way. Those whom the LORD has rescued will travel home by that road. 10 They will reach Jerusalem with gladness, singing and shouting for joy. They will be happy forever, forever free from sorrow and grief.
KJV w/Strong# - {3} O magnify <01431> the LORD <03068> with me, and let us exalt <07311> his name <08034> together <03162>. {4} I sought <01875> the LORD <03068>, and he heard <06030> me, and delivered <05337> me from all <03605> my fears <04035>.
NRSV - 3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. 4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.
TEV - "In Praise of God's Goodness" - 1 I will always thank the LORD; I will never stop praising him. 2 I will praise him for what he has done; may all who are oppressed listen and be glad! 3 Proclaim with me the LORD's greatness; let us praise his name together! 4 I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me; he freed me from all my fears. 5 The oppressed look to him and are glad; they will never be disappointed. 6 The helpless call to him, and he answers; he saves them from all their troubles. 7 His angel guards those who honor the LORD and rescues them from danger. 8 Find out for yourself how good the LORD is. Happy are those who find safety with him. 9 Honor the LORD, all his people; those who obey him have all they need. 10 Even lions go hungry for lack of food, but those who obey the LORD lack nothing good.

KJV w/Strong# - {20} [He that is] our God <0410> [is] the God <0410> of salvation <04190>; and unto GOD <03069> the Lord <0136> [belong] the issues <08444> from death <04194>.

KJV w/Strong# - {41} And, behold <2400>, there came <2064> a man <435> named <3686> Jairus <2383>, and he was a ruler <758> of the synagogue <4864>: and he fell <4098> down at <3844> Jesus <2424>' feet <4228>, and besought <3870> him that he would come <1525> into <1519> his house <3624>: {42} For he had <1510> one only <3439> daughter <2364>, about <5613> twelve <1427> years <2094> of age, and she lay a dying <599>. But as he went <5217> the people <3793> thronged <4846> him.
{49} While he yet <2089> spake <2980>, there cometh <2064> one <5100> from the ruler <752> of the synagogue's <752> [house], saying <3004> to him, Thy daughter <2364> is dead <2348>; trouble <4660> not <3361> the Master <1320>. {50} But when Jesus <2424> heard <191> [it], he answered <611> him, saying <3004>, Fear <5399> not: believe <4100> only <3440>, and she shall be made <4982> whole <4982>. {51} And when he came <1525> into <1519> the house <3614>, he suffered <863> no <3762> man <3762> to go <1525> in, save <1508> Peter <4074>, and James <2385>, and John <2491>, and the father <3962> and the mother <3384> of the maiden <3816>. {52} And all <3956> wept <2799>, and bewailed <2875> her: but he said <2036>, Weep <2799> not; she is not dead <599>, but sleepeth <2518>. {53} And they laughed <2606> him to scorn <2606>, knowing <1492> that she was dead <599>. {54} And he put <1544> them all <3956> out, and took <2902> her by the hand <5495>, and called <5455>, saying <3004>, Maid <3816>, arise <1453>. {55} And her spirit <4151> came <1994> again <1994>, and she arose <450> straightway <3916>: and he commanded <1299> to give <1325> her meat <5315>.
NRSV - 41 Just then there came a man named Jairus, a leader of the synagogue. He fell at Jesus' feet and begged him to come to his house, 42 for he had an only daughter, about twelve years old, who was dying. As he went, the crowds pressed in on him.
49 While he was still speaking, someone came from the leader's house to say, "Your daughter is dead; do not trouble the teacher any longer." 50 When Jesus heard this, he replied, "Do not fear. Only believe, and she will be saved." 51 When he came to the house, he did not allow anyone to enter with him, except Peter, John, and James, and the child's father and mother. 52 They were all weeping and wailing for her; but he said, "Do not weep; for she is not dead but sleeping." 53 And they laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. 54 But he took her by the hand and called out, "Child, get up!" 55 Her spirit returned, and she got up at once. Then he directed them to give her something to eat.
TEV - "Jairus' Daughter and the Woman Who Touched Jesus' Cloak" - 40 When Jesus returned to the other side of the lake, the people welcomed him, because they had all been waiting for him. 41 Then a man named Jairus arrived; he was an official in the local synagogue. He threw himself down at Jesus' feet and begged him to go to his home, 42 because his only daughter, who was twelve years old, was dying. As Jesus went along, the people were crowding him from every side.
46 But Jesus said, "Someone touched me, for I knew it when power went out of me." 47 The woman saw that she had been found out, so she came trembling and threw herself at Jesus' feet. There in front of everybody, she told him why she had touched him and how she had been healed at once. 48 Jesus said to her, "My daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace." 49 While Jesus was saying this, a messenger came from the official's house. "Your daughter has died," he told Jairus; "don't bother the Teacher any longer." 50 But Jesus heard it and said to Jairus, "Don't be afraid; only believe, and she will be well." 51 When he arrived at the house, he would not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John, and James, and the child's father and mother. 52 Everyone there was crying and mourning for the child. Jesus said, "Don't cry; the child is not dead -- she is only sleeping!" 53 They all made fun of him, because they knew that she was dead. 54 But Jesus took her by the hand and called out, "Get up, child!" 55 Her life returned, and she got up at once, and Jesus ordered them to give her something to eat. 56 Her parents were astounded, but Jesus commanded them not to tell anyone what had happened.

You were angry with me, but now you comfort me and are angry no longer. 2 God is my savior; I will trust him and not be afraid. The LORD gives me power and strength; he is my savior. 3 As fresh water brings joy to the thirsty, so God's people rejoice when he saves them."
KJV w/Strong# - {9} Break <06476> forth into joy, sing <07442> together <03162>, ye waste <02723> places of Jerusalem <03389>: for the LORD <03068> hath comforted <05162> his people <05971>, he hath redeemed <01350> Jerusalem <03389>. {10} The LORD <03068> hath made bare <02834> his holy <06944> arm <02220> in the eyes <05869> of all <03605> the nations <01471>; and all <03605> the ends <0657> of the earth <0776> shall see <07200> the salvation <03444> of our God <0430>.

TEV - "You Are Chosen for Salvation" - 13 We must thank God at all times for you, brothers, you whom the Lord loves.
